COMP and Microsoft collaborate to nurture FinTech talents in Hong Kong

Building on the success of the establishment of PolyU-Microsoft Smart Computing Laboratory in 2015, Prof. Jiannong Cao, Chair Professor and Head of COMP signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mr Fred Sheu, National Technology Officer of Microsoft Hong Kong on 7 June, to nurture local talents for Financial Technology (FinTech) development in Hong Kong.

Under this extended collaboration, Microsoft will provide cloud computing resources for FinTech application development and also provide COMP’s FinTech students with practical, hands-on development experience at the joint Smart Computing Lab as well as summer internship.

After the signing ceremony, awards were presented to the winners of Smart Computing Competition held in April with the support from Microsoft.
