Assignment # 2

 

    This is a group assignment and each group can have maximum of six students. The distribution of each group assignment will be random and performed in the class on  27/10/2008. Each of the group will receive a case study relating to the problems and applications in the information systems. The details of this case study and problems will be delivered to each group, in the class, on 27/10/2008.

   

Group 1: Failures in Data Security Management

Group 2: Competitive Battle for e-Commerce Supremacy

Group 3: Business Benefits of Customer Relationship Management

Group 4: The Business Case for Virtual Worlds in 3D Internet

Group 5: Social Media and Social Networking

Group 6: Managing Web 2.0

Group 7: Role of Internet in Advertising and Marketing

Group 8: The Raise of Google

Group 9: Failure and Success in Application Software for Small-to-Medium Enterprise

Group 10: Utility Computing and its Applications

Group 11: Mining Success from an Enterprise Data Warehouse

Group 12: Privacy Statements and CEO Express

       Each of the above groups should discuss the given problems and usage of information systems in providing the solution. Students are expected to perform a good search in the state-of-the art relating to the problem and provide answers to the questions provided in the case study. Each group should deliver a 15 minute (maximum) short presentation on the (i) problems (maximum 3 sides), (ii) discuss the respective questions and its solutions, and (ii) provide some comments/details on the state-of-the-art in related information systems.

 

     Grading

     Presentation:8 marks, Solutions: 7 marks

Please upload your presentation and soft copy of your assignment solutions from your WebCT account. Please make sure that you upload the assignment only once. In case of multiple submissions, ONLY first submission will be used for the grading.

Deadline

The submission deadline for the assignment # 2 is 23/11/2008 [23:59 Hrs].

The assignment # 2 submission after 23/11/2008 [23:59 Hrs] will not be accepted.
