Overview

  • Facilitation of in-depth learning in the integration of software, hardware and networking, and the development of innovative software.
  • Focused on emerging technologies such as Innovative Computing, Network Security and Secured Computing, Mobile and Pervasive Computing, Embedded Computing, and Biometrics.
  • Minor option: students can opt to graduate with a Minor in any discipline, and by taking more credits, they can graduate with double minors in two other disciplines.
  • Suitable for students with a background in science.

Programme Structure

  • Years One: fundamental knowledge, laying the foundation for university study, a taste of the broad discipline.
  • Year Two and Three: basic knowledge in computing and hardware with emphasis on innovative computing paradigm, networking, IT infrastructure design, implementation and maintenance.
  • Final Year: corporate Networking and Internet Security, System Programming, Embedded Computing, and the integration of IT technologies with practical systems and applications.

Career Prospects

BSc(Hons) in Information Technology graduates can become analyst programmers, iPhone/Android programmers, network administrators, network managers and system integrators.
