Who should pursue an MSc degree in E-Commerce?
This programme is intended for students in any discipline, who are normally expected to have an Honours degree with relevant managerial / professional working experience.

What is the MSc in E-Commerce about?
Designed for professionals with managerial roles in any discipline, our MSc in E-Commerce programme provides in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in the application of E-Commerce (EC) systems in a business organization. You will learn how to appraise, plan, develop and manage different EC models and tools to solve real-life business and industrial problems. Moreover, our curriculum includes sample models and case studies for you to apply your newly-acquired strategies and skills in the real world context.

What modes of teaching are available?
Students may choose between the regular classroom teaching mode and the CyberU on-line learning mode.

Regular mode students who are not able to attend classes for an extended period can apply to study subjects available in CyberU mode and be subject to the credit fee for CyberU subjects. However, students are normally expected not to obtain more than 30% of their credit requirement (assessed at the time of admission) for the award of study in CyberU mode.

What is the structure of the Programme?

Students may choose to:
  1. Complete 7 subjects (at least 5 core subjects with 3 from core-1 and 2 from core-2) plus a dissertation; or
  2. Complete 8 subjects (at least 6 core subjects with 4 from core-1 and 2 from core-2) plus a project.
  3. Complete 10 subjects (at least 6 core subjects with 4 from core-1 and 2 from core-2).
Postgraduate Diploma in E-Commerce 18
2 semesters (Full-time)
3 semesters (Part-time)
Complete 6 subjects (at least 4 core-1 subjects).

 

*Students shall select electives up to 6 credits or 25% (whichever the less) of the total credit requirement from other departments for completion.

How much do they cost?
Regular Mode - HK$2,950 per credit (HK$3,670 per credit for non-local students from 2013-14 onwards)

Can I specialise in the executive or technical aspect of E-Commerce?
You can choose to take subjects from the Executive* or Technical** Group and obtain a certificate of recognition from the Department after fulfilling the subject requirements. If you want to gain exposure in both executive and technical aspects of E-Commerce, you can always build your own portfolio of subjects within the general requirement.
