In addition to conducting research within their own areas of expertise, our staff have frequently been invited to serve in various important international and local offices, including as chair of the Computer Society of the IEEE Hong Kong Section, executive committee of the IEEE Hong Kong Section, chair of the ACM Hong Kong Section, on various government advisory panels, and on the editorial boards of numerous international journals. In recognition of the expertise of our faculty members in their respective areas of research, our staff have been invited to serve as chairs and programme committee members of over 300 international conferences and workshops. These include IEEE Pervasive Computing (PerComm), IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE International Conference on Distributed Computing Systems (ICDCS), International Conference Mobile Data Management (MDM), International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), IEEE International Conference on Semantic Computing, IEEE International Conference on Cognitive Informatics (ICCI), and the IAPR International Conference on Biometrics (ICBA), among many others.
