Along with an update on the QF work, the presentation will focus on its impact (short and long term) on personal and organisational interest and on the wider implications related to the HK economy and well being as well as put in perspective the importance of ethical practice and the intimate relationship between computer ethics and success/failure in personal and organizational terms.

Hong Kong has a role to play in the development of ICT industry in China today though exchange of activities between the two places accelerated over the years culminating closer and closer cooperation in recent years. The presentation will throw light on what and how Hong Kong can offer and gain, among other issues.
The Speaker:
Mrs Mak has over 20 solid years of experience in information technology. Prior to iPrinciple, she was Senior Vice President of PCCW Mobile IT, Group Director of SUNDAY Communications Ltd., Head of IT of Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority, Head IT of British American Tobacco China. Also, Mrs Mak has been very active within the community, having been, among others, President of Hong Kong Computer Society (1995-1998), and is a HKCS Distinguished Fellow. Currently, she is Chairman of the Information & Communications Technology Industry Training Advisory Committee of Education Bureau, Vice Chairman of the General Support Program Vetting Committee of the Innovation and Technology Fund, and Vice Chairman of Employee Retraining Board and Member of the Social Welfare Advisory Committee of HKSAR as well as Chairman of Committee in Information Technology Training and Development of Vocational Training Council.
Dr. Wong is the founder and Managing Principal of iASPEC, a group of companies established in 1988 to provide IT consulting services, software products and services in Hong Kong, mainland China and North America. Prior to this, Dr Wong served as the Principal Architect in a State of California government data centre from 1975 to 1981, and he received the Distinguished Services Award from the California Government in 1979. Dr. Wong returned to Mainland China in 1982 and has served in several state-operated organizations; he has also held senior positions in international IT companies in the Mainland and the Hong Kong SAR. Dr. Wong obtained his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the University of California. Dr. Wong is a Distinguished Fellow of the Hong Kong Computer Society, and holds membership of the University Grants Committee, the Advisory Committee on Creative Industry of the Central Policy Unit in the HKSAR Government. Also, Dr. Wong serves as members in the Advisory Committees of various engineering faculties and IT related academic departments in Hong Kong, mainland China as well as the United States.
