Dr Au is an assistant professor at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong. Before moving back to Hong Kong in 2014, he has been a lecturer at the School of Computer Science and Software Engineering, University of Wollongong, Australia.
Dr Au’s research interests include Information Security and Privacy, Applied Cryptography, Accountable Anonymity, Cloud Computing. As an early career researcher, Dr Au has been an active member in the research community. He served as a program committee member of around 20 international conferences in the last 5 years. He is also the program committee co-chair of the 8th International Conference on Network and System Security and the 9th International Conference on Provable Security. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Information Security and Applications, Elsevier. He has served as a guest editor for various journals such as Future Generation Computer Systems, Elsevier and Concurrency and Computation: Practice and Experience, Wiley. He has published over 80 papers, including the well-respected IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security, IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, the ACM Transaction on Information and System Security and IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology and the top international conferences including the ACM Conference on Computer and Communications Security (CCS) and Network and Distributed System Security Symposium (NDSS).
Dr Au received the bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Department of Information Engineering, Chinese University of Hong Kong, in 2003 and 05 respectively, and the Ph.D. degree from the University of Wollongong, Australia, in 2009.
