BIOGRAPHY

Dr Cheung is currently a Teaching Fellow of Department of Computing (COMP) at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU). He is currently a member of of COMP. He joined COMP in 2007 and has performed teaching and research at PolyU and provided professional service to the Hong Kong community.

Dr Cheung's research interests include pattern recognition, biometrics, image and information processing and retrieval. Recently, he has been working on some research on Assistive Technologies, e.g. Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCI) and Communication Board technologies for disabilities, elderly, minorities in the society. He has published papers in some renowned journals and conferences, including Pattern Recognition, IEEE Transactions on Circuit Systems for Video Technology, International Conference on Pattern Recognition, IAPR International Conference on Biometrics.

He has served as a technical committee for international conferences and has involved in the organization of international conferences, workshop and forum. He has also served as a reviewer for international journals and conferences. He has served as a consultant to the Education (and Manpower) Bureau for project related to New Senior Secondary (NSS) Information and Communication Technology subject development.

Dr Cheung obtained his B.A. (Honours) and Ph.D. degrees from COMP at PolyU in 1999 and 2006 respectively.
