Students should refer to the CEF's website at http://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/cef/en/index.htm for updated details and application procedures. You may also make reference to the following information. If there is any inconsistency or conflict between the versions offered by CEF's Office and as below, the version of CEF's Office shall prevail.

  • Application procedures
    • The application form SFO 192 (2015) Rev. can be downloaded from http://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/cef/en/application/procedures.htm
    • Complete the application form SFO 192 (2015) Rev. and submit it to Office of CEF before the COURSE commencement date (i.e. the date of a semester commencement). You may refer to the commencement date as stated in the "Academic Calendar" in the Student Handbook issued by the Academic Secretariat.
    • You should bring along your completed application form to the General Office (Room PQ806, 8/F, P Core) in person during office hours. The Department will complete Part C of the form. If you cannot come in person, please mail it to: (together with a stamped addressed envelope) Department of Computing, PQ806, Mong Man Wai Building, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Kowloon. (Attention: CEF Application).
  • Reimbursement procedures
    • Each successful applicant will be provided with a Reimbursement Claim Form (RCF) SFO 193 (2015) Rev. by CEF's Office which should be submitted after successful completion of the COURSE(s). For details, please refer to http://www.wfsfaa.gov.hk/cef/en/claim/procedures.htm
    • The form should be completed with proper COURSE commencement date (i.e. the date of a semester commencement) and completion date (i.e. the semester end date). You may refer to the dates as stated in the "Academic Calendar" in the Student Handbook issued by the Academic Secretariat.
    • Applicants should submit the form to the General Office (Room PQ806, 8/F., P Core) in person during office hours to get a certification letter for final submission to CEF's Office. If you cannot come in person, please mail it to: (together with a stamped addressed envelope) Department of Computing, PQ806, Mong Man Wai Building, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hung Hom, Kowloon. (Attention: CEF Reimbursement).
    • NOTE: For reimbursement of the second subject, a new application is NOT required. Please send us a request for a certification letter via email to comp.pg@polyu.edu.hk one week after the announcement of examination results. You can then proceed with the reimbursement by the procedures mentioned above.
  • Eligibility of COURSE fees reimbursement
    • CEF claimants would be eligible for fee reimbursement only upon their successful completion of the whole COURSE. 
    • CEF claimants are required to obtain at least 50% passing mark** for the assessment of the courses before they are eligible for fee reimbursement
    • CEF claimants are required to attend at least 70% of the courses to meet the fee reimbursement criteria.

    ** Notes from Department of Computing:
    For reference, students should get at least an overall grade of "C" in the respective COURSE.
