Scope:
Peer-to-peer (P2P) networks are originally designed for the sharing of computer
resources and digital contents among users over the Internet. With the recent
technological advancement in the capability of both mobile devices and wireless
networks, P2P networks start to extend to the wireless environment and open up
new possibilities for users. It also brings many challenges, however, in both
aspects of academic research and industrial development, when providing services
to a large-scale number of users over mobile P2P networks at a reasonable cost.
The difficulties come from the specific features of mobile devices and wireless
networks as well as the self-interested peers on over-consuming and under-supplying
resources.
This workshop is intended to serve as a forum and bring together the researchers
and engineers in both academia and industry to exchange ideas, share experiences,
and report original works about all aspects of mobile P2P networks. The main purpose
is to promote discussions of research and relevant activities in the design of
architectures, algorithms, protocols, services, and applications for mobile P2P
networks. Topics of interests include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Architecture and platform design for mobile P2P systems
- Overlay multicast and application-layer multicast algorithms in mobile P2P networks
- Location management in mobile P2P networks
- Resource management in mobile P2P networks
- Mobile P2P systems in heterogeneous networks: WPAN/WLAN/WMAN/WWAN
- QoS and Diffserv issues for mobile P2P systems
- Performance evaluation and analysis for mobile P2P systems
- Mobile P2P system middleware
- Business models for mobile P2P systems
- Wireless P2P applications
- Pricing strategies for mobile P2P services
- Digital rights management and security issues for mobile P2P systems
Paper Submission:
Papers must be written in English and formatted according to the IEEE
standard double-column format with a font size 10 pt or larger, which
can have SIX free pages with at longest TWO additional charged pages.
One additional page costs $150. The Submissions should represent original
research results and include an abstract, five to ten keywords, and the
corresponding author's Email address. Authors MUST submit their papers in
PDF format via Email to the co-chairs (Dr. Wei Lou or Dr. Yunhao Liu).
Submission implies the willingness of at least one of the authors to
submit a full regular registration of ICPP2007 even if the author is a
student and present the paper. All submissions will be reviewed and
selected based on their originality of the paper. Accepted papers must
be presented at the workshop and will be published in CD/ROM by IEEE
Computer Society Press.

Notification of acceptance: May 15, 2007
Camera-ready papers due: June 11, 2007
